My Kokoro is made by Needful Dreams LLC (“we”, “us”). We designed the app to be gentle on you and your data. Most information you enter stays on your device. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run third-party ads or tracking SDKs.

What This Policy Covers

This policy describes how the My Kokoro mobile app and the My Kokoro website handle information. If you contact us by email or through the website, our handling of that correspondence is included here too.

Data We Store On Your Device

The app saves the following data locally on your device (SQLite/secure storage/OS key-value storage):

• Basic profile: name or nickname, optional avatar image (file path only).
• PIN for app access (stored as a one-way hash; we never store the raw PIN).
• Emergency contact name and email (optional).
• Goals, schedules, and progress (including “completed”, “skipped”, or “missed”).
• KP score totals derived from your progress.
• Optional journals and mood entries you choose to record.
• Notification preference (on/off). If enabled, the OS may maintain a push token for delivery.

By default, My Kokoro does not sync your data to our servers. Deleting the app or using “Reset My Kokoro” removes local data from your device.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No location tracking.
• No contacts/address book imports.
• No third-party advertising SDKs.
• No data selling. Ever.

Caregiver Mode

If you set up Caregiver + User mode, the caregiver can view the user’s progress reports within the app as intended. This information remains on the device(s) involved and is not sent to our servers.

In-App Purchases

Tips/purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment information. Those stores may share purchase confirmations or anonymous transaction metadata needed to unlock features and prevent fraud. Please review the Apple and Google privacy policies.

How We Use Information

My Kokoro does not collect or store your personal information on our servers. All information you enter into the app (such as goals, progress, journal entries, and mood tracking) stays on your device and is used only by the app to provide its features.

• To run core features on your device: goals, reminders, progress tracking, mood and journal entries.
• To protect your account locally using a hashed PIN (never sent to us).
• To send optional notifications, managed by your device’s operating system (if you enable them).
• If you email us, we use your provided email address only to respond to your inquiry.

Crash & Diagnostics

If your device/OS sends anonymized crash logs (e.g., via Apple/Google), we may view those in the store’s developer consoles to improve stability. These logs typically do not include personal content.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We only share information when necessary to operate the app (e.g., through the app stores’ purchase systems) or when you ask us to (e.g., support emails). We may disclose information if required by law.

Your Choices & Controls

• Edit data: You can update most information directly in the app.
• Notifications: You can turn notifications on/off in the app or in your device settings.
• Delete data: Use “Reset My Kokoro” in the app to remove local data from your device. Uninstalling the app removes local data as well.
• Export: If you need a data export, email us and we’ll do our best to help.

Security

We store your PIN as a one-way hash and rely on the device’s storage protections. As with any app, keeping your device locked and up to date improves security.

Children

My Kokoro is not directed to children under 13. Caregivers may use the app to support a minor with appropriate consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental/guardian consent.

International Users

Your app data is stored on your device, which may be in any country where you use the app. If you email us, your message may be processed on servers located in the United States.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last Updated” date above and, when changes are significant, we’ll provide a notice in-app or on this page.
